a passion for block printed fabrics
bespoke handmade homewares
What is block printing?
Block printing is a centuries old traditional method of hand printing on fabric prolific in India. Designs are carved into wooden blocks (sometimes metal blocks) and are then used by artisans to hand print onto the fabrics. The end result is beautiful hand printed fabrics. The printing "anomalies" that you may see pay homage to the hand printed method, adding charm and uniqueness to every piece.

About my fabrics
I ethically source my block printed fabrics from India. They are 100% cotton and are mostly block printed using natural dyes like Indigo (indigofera). They are also commonly hand dyed and hand woven. Most of my fabrics come from a textile co-operative that supports textile artisans from all across India. Money goes directly back to these artisans to help keep their craft and communities alive. I hope I’m doing my little bit to help promote and keep the wonderful industry of block printing surviving for many centuries to come.
